L.A.’s Blind Barber Partners with Movember for Movember & Co. Barbershop

Movember & Co.

You’ve seen guys showing off their Movember mustaches every November to raise awareness for men’s health, but the truth is, Movember (the charity) works all year long to raise awareness for issues such as prostate cancer and more. To give guys one more way to get involved, Movember is teaming with GQ apprived (and Fashion Trends Daily favorite) the Blind Barber for a special barbershop right in the Movember offices that will be a place where guys can come in and get trimmed and give to the Movember cause.

Movember & Co.

Beginning June 6, the Blind Barber will staff Movember & Co., a special in-house barbershop that’s right inside Movember’s L.A. headquarters in Culver City. Every Friday, guys will have a chance to come in and hang out as well as get a cut inside the cool, retro-inspired space. The barbershop will be Movember’s very first barbershop, and they hope to bring together the world of grooming with men’s health.

In the past, the Blind Barber has partnered with Movember for events in both Los Angeles and New York, so teaming with them for this special installation was a natural progression for both parties.

Movember & Co.

All of the profits from the shop will be donated directly to Movember, and just like the Blind Barber has created a place for the community to gather for cuts and cocktails, they hope that Movember & Co. will be a place where guys can come together to not only get groomed, but also hang out after they’ve gotten trimmed down. In addition to haircuts, guys can also get classic shaves and mustache trims and pick up their favorite Blind Barber products at Movember & Co. all year long.

During Movember & Co.’s first few weeks, appointments will be taken on Fridays only, but we’re sure as word spreads and guys find out about the spot (word of mouth is the Blind Barber’s M.O.), more days will be added to the schedule.

Movember & Co. is located inside Movember headquarters, at 8559 Higuera Street, in Culver City. To make an appointment for an cut or shave at the Movember & Co. Barbershop, call 310-841-6679.

Prepare for Balmania 2.0 With the Debut of Pierre Balmain

Balmain, the label beloved by pop stars, paparazzi-loving preeners and fashion editors alike has just debuted its new line, Pierre Balmain, with a presentation at the Paris collections this past Sunday. One look at the sexy, skimpy, embellished looks and you can see why Beyonc©, Demi Moore and Rihanna rely on the brand for high-wattage appearances and shows.

But having one of the highest price points in the world of fashion has meant that not everyone can get their mitts on it. Don’t get us wrong, this is no Target collection here. But with the launch of Pierre Balmain, the label is branching out and giving the fashion obsessed a better chance to engage with the line and indulge their inner rock star.

The women€™s and men€™s collection is a collaboration between Balmain Paris and Ittiere SpA, but just because the price tags don€™t live in the four-digit range doesn€™t mean they won€™t have high-fashion styling. The animal prints, sleek, tight silhouettes and sex-on-stilettos attitude that are the hallmarks of Balmain all make an appearance in Pierre Balmain, but priced at a more palatable ‚¬120 to ‚¬650.

And for the guys, it€™s a downtown haute hipster look with frayed denim, leather accents and ultra-slim fits. To promote the new line, Pierre Balmain enlisted Our Mountain  to provide a soundtrack for the campaign.  In-demand model Abbey Lee Kershaw, real-life girlfriend of Our Mountain frontman Matthew Hutchinson, stars in the video for the womenswear and Hutchinson stars in the menswear version. Shot in New York by Inez & Vinoodh, Kershaw is dressed in the brand€™s knitwear, dresses, leathers and more.

Need some Pierre Balmain now? They€™ve just gone live on Twitter, @Pierre_Balmain, and have a Tumblr,, which will give you a peek into the campaign and the ultra-sexy Pierre Balmain lifestyle.

Prepare to run into the line next time you go out to browse the racks. They€™ll be carried in over 700 spots worldwide and Pierre Balmain boutiques. A global takeover (starting in Milan, Rome and Paris, naturally) is sure to ensue, so prepare yourself for a little rock €˜n roll. Need some inspiration? The brand has just released a pair of exclusive videos on their YouTube page with new singles from Our Mountain and, of course, some very cool duds.
