Save Steal Splurge: the Subtle Choker

Now that the ’90s comeback has reached its peak, it’s about time some of the more subtle trends come back around. Sure, you’ve got a go-to slip dress, maybe a flannel or two and definitely some mom jeans (admit it!), but one way to do the ’90s without looking like an extra from Troop Beverly Hills is to slip on a subtle choker. No, not a ribbon cameo or those stretchy plastic tattoo chokers, something sleek and sophisticated. We’ve found three that’ll play well with necklaces you’ve already got and are the perfect finishing touch to just about any holiday party.

And on top of all that, they’re comfortable, chic and won’t go the way of overalls and platform sneakers. You’ll wear these long after the ’90s wave has crested.

Our Favorite Bomber Jackets Under $175

That army jacket you’ve got in rotation is about to get some company. If you’re into that tomboy look that comes with it (and we don’t blame you, because we’re in love with our army jacket over super-feminine pieces), it may be time to add something else to your collection.

Our advice? Recruit a bomber. They’ve still got that tomboy feeling, but it adds a bit of Pink Lady flair, especially if you get one with a little sheen. But for classicists, there are plenty of options in black and olive, which will put you high in the style ranks, no matter what you pair yours with.
