Save Steal Splurge: The Skort

Like a few of our favorite summer fashion items (the fanny pack, the Birkenstock), the skort is making a comeback after a few seasons — years, even — of sartorial dormancy. When was the last time you shimmied into the skirt/short hybrid? We’ve spotted them all over, including on the likes of Karolina Kurkova, style bloggers everywhere and cool California girls such as Jessica Alba. And why not? They’re easy to wear, easy to move in and you can be fearless of any stray breezes that might give regular skirts reason to misbehave.

We’ve found our favorites in prints, badass faux leather and a ladylike tweed that’ll have your friends giving your skort a second glance.

Save: Topshop Lemon Print Pointed Hem Skort ($68)

Steal: Free People Zip Detail Faux Leather Skort ($118)

Splurge: Tory Burch Marlene Skort ($195)

Be a Street Style Superstar with the Best Stan Smith Inspired Sneakers

Introduced back in ’71, the Stan Smith — named after the iconic tennis player — instantly became a shoe coveted by the country club set and their rebellious kids. Today, the sneaker’s usurped the crown from Isabel Marant’s wedge sneakers and their subsequent knockoffs as the sneaker du jour. Paired with prim and proper pieces, the Stan Smiths give a little bit of streetwear edge, but if you’re more of a Rick Owens nu-goth girl, they’ll really shine with your all-black ensembles. Designers are offering up the classic silhouette with their own unique twists, so there’s something for everyone — and something at every price point.
