Brace Yourself: Miansai Expands with Leather Essentials

Michael Saiger

Alright guys, we know that you’re already well-versed in the world of wrist-wear, especially since menswear favorite Miansai has been around to outfit your arms and keep your watch company. Aside from the label’s signature nautical luxe bracelets, designer Michael Saiger has been slowly growing his label to include watches, Panama hats and even a gold iPhone case, but this week, he’s growing outside of adorning your wrist and adding a line of leather goods to Miansai’s always-evolving selection.

Miansai has grown to include a variety of jewelry options, but this foray into leather goods is the first step in establishing the line as a complete lifestyle collection. Soon, Saiger will be opening the first Miansai standalone store on SoHo’s bustling Mulberry street and earlier this year, he introduced a line of girls’ goods to the line when lady customers were spotted snatching up the bracelets for themselves.

Like the brand’s bracelets, Miansai’s leather offerings will keep things simple.

The first collection, which ranges from $95-195, includes a selection of wallets that range from simple solids to more forward-leaning colorblocked options. The wallets are made in the USA, just like the bracelets and jewelry that first garnered the attention of mens’ mags such as GQ and in-the-know editors. Leather is sourced from Italy.

In addition to traditional back-pocket wallets, Saiger is also offering a more continental long wallet, which includes a nautical rope and gold clasp that recalls his trademark nautical hooks. The debut collection also includes two camera straps (previously, Miansai has collaborated with optical brand Mosley Tribes for a sunglass lanyard) in leather and a leather/linen combo. Cameraphiles will want to outfit their Leicas with one of these straps to keep there lenses close and clothed in the latest menswear duds.

You might have a go-to scarf, but imagine it supersized. This way, you can wrap it around your neck and shoulders to stay warm and to keep away all the stresses you might face €” like getting completely dressed.
