Mad Men Debuts Collabs with Banana Republic and Est©e Lauder for their Fifth Season
We’ve all been waiting for the new season of Mad Men to premiere, but trust us when we say that the madness, so to speak, for the show hasn’t abated even between seasons. From beauty to apparel, Mad Men-influenced products are popping up everywhere to fªte the show’s fifth season (on AMC March 25th). Whether you want to primp like Joan and Betty or enter a room with the gravitas of Roger Sterling, there’s plenty to choose from if you want to get that glam Mad Men look.
After a successful collection in Fall 2011 (it didn’t last but a few days), the second Banana Republic Mad Men Collection bows just in time for the season premiere.
The collection debuted on a Virgin America flight from JFK to LAX yesterday, with models walking the plane in the new clothes. With a select group of bloggers sitting in those leather seats– along with some befuddled commuters–everyone got a sneak peek at the collection before the Mad Style parties being held in Banana Republic stores nationwide begin.
In stores today, the range of women’s ready-to-wear and accessories, designed by Janie Bryant, naturally, are perfect for weekends in Palm Springs or the Hamptons (model Shalom Harlow shows off everything from cocktail-ready frocks to cropped pants and candy-hues perfect for polo matches by her stand-in Don Draper, David Gandy). The guys have tipped polos, navy blazers and country club staples to choose from. Whether you’re looking for wardrobe staples or needing a few retro accents pieces, we’d recommend you get to your local Banana Republic fast — this collection is sure to sell out just as fast as the last one.
One thing about Mad Men that has seduced viewers since the first episode is the period-accurate beauty.
Two pieces just not enough? No need to get your pin curls in a tangle! Lauder has already announced they’ll be releasing another Mad Men collection in 2013 in conjunction with the next season’s premiere.
For the guy who really wants to channel Don Draper or Roger Sterling, Swiss mega-brand Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a limited (really, really limited at just 25 numbered pieces) edition version of the Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin with the Sterling Cooper Draper Price logo engraved on the back.
But you’re not just getting the watch when you pick this up. Wait, there’s more: You’ll get a carved wooden box and a signed copy of Roger Sterling’s advice tome, Sterling’s Gold (signed by series creator Matthew Weiner, not Sterling himself, unfortunately). A piece of Sterling you will get? A letter congratulating you on your purchase. The watch might set you back a pretty penny, but that letter? Priceless.
