TOMS Teams with Jonathan Adler for Red, White and Blue Summer Collab

TOMS x Jonathan Adler

This summer, Toms, the charitable footwear company-turned lifestyle label known for its ‘”Buy one, give one” ethos will be known for something a little peppier: a collaboration with interior designer, television host and master potter Jonathan Adler.

The two teams are coming together for a special patriotic capsule collection of Toms’ beloved sunglasses. Previously available in basics such as black and tortoise as well as a few summer-ready hues, the collection will introduce three new styles decked out in all-American red, white and blue. Get patriotic with the Lobamba, Marco and Memphis, which range in price from $169 to $179. They’re classic Toms styles but, of course, Adler had to update them with his signature anti-depressant style.

The shades are all accompanied by needlepoint cases — another Adler signature.

Inside each frame, Toms’ cheeky slogan “Our glasses make you look smarter” remains untouched. And of course, when you buy a pair of these sunglasses, Toms will donate an eye exam and a pair of eyeglasses to a child in need around the world. With Tibet, India and Egypt checked off the list so far, keep your eyes peeled for the next place the brand will be gracing with their their humanitarian services.

Cheap Thrills: Candace Abbott’s Chic Sports Bra

Blue Life Fit Lasercut Racerback Bra

While most people think of writers as the reclusive type, the truth is, wordsmiths have to leave their desks once in a while. Candace Abbott, a friend of Fashion Trends Daily and a jack-of-all-trades writer/publicist and social media maestro is anything but your typical geek. She’s got a gym toned bod and enough vivacity to go from one event to another without skipping a beat. How does she balance it all? She’s not divulging all of her tricks, but a sports bra that does double duty is one of her secret weapons.

“Absolutely loving this laser cut sports bra from Blue Life,” says Abbott. “Sometimes I’m moving from the gym to a lunch date and need to look somewhat stylish. A peek-a-boo sports bra like this goes great under a zip-up hoodie.”

You’ve probably heard of SoCal store Planet Blue, but you might not know that they’ve got a great in-house brand, Blue Life, that’s all about laid-back luxe and that effortless California chic that you spot on Hollywood PYTs and off-duty celebs. The Blue Life Fit Lasercut Racerback Bra ($99) is anything but your basic bra.

With laser cut details and a chic contrasting colorway, you’ll be doing your reps in high style and still look great after you’ve broken a sweat.

Available at Revolve Clothing.

Target and TOMS Team for a Charitable Holiday Collaboration

A look from TOMS for Target.

TOMS devotees: listen up. This year, you’ll want to head to Target to do your holiday shopping. The TOMS for Target collection is bringing Toms charitable ethos to holiday hopping, so whether you’re buying for yourself or to give, TOMS for Target has the potential to provide more than 11 million meals, blankets and shoes to those in need.

€œWe€™re excited to partner with Target for the holidays and take TOMS€™ One for One giving model further than ever before,€ Blake Mycoskie, TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver said in a statement. €œEvery purchase allows Target€™s guests to bring home a beautifully designed product and do good, providing nourishment, warmth and shoes to a person in need.€

The TOMS for Target collection will encompass everything from apparel for men, women and children as well as the brand’s signature slip-on shoes, which will be available for the very first time at Target. The collection will also offer lifestyle items such as reusable water bottles, picture frames, mugs and more. The entire collection includes over 50 items and nothing will be priced over $50.

“Target€™s holiday partnership with TOMS is the perfect marriage of both brands€™ core values€”great design that€™s accessible to everyone and a commitment to giving back,€ said Kathee Tesija, executive vice president and chief merchandising and supply chain officer at Target.

The collection will be available at every target location in America and Canada, another first for the company.

It will all arrive in-store and online November 16.

The TOMS for Target collection has the potential to provide more than 11 million meals, blankets and shoes to those in need. Following TOMS’ One for One model, every apparel, accessory and home good purchase will result in the donation of a blanket through the American Red Cross or Canadian Red Cross, or one week of meals through Feeding America or Food Banks Canada. And as for the shoes, for each pair of TOMS for Target shoes, a pair will go to a child in need.

Past holiday collections from Target have included collaborations with the CFDA and Neiman Marcus, which partnered the mass retailer up with designers such as Marchesa, Alice + Olivia, rag & bone, Thom Browne and more, which was available in 2012.

The TOMS for Target holiday collection will follow the highly anticipated Altuzarra for Target collection, which will be available online and in-stores September 14.
