Saint Laurent Arrives on Rodeo Drive

After setting up a temporary shop and erecting a fa§ade that highlighted the nu-grunge look of the Slimane Saint Laurent at 326 North Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills can now boast the arrival of the brand new Saint Laurent flagship. After months of waiting, Saint Laurent revealed the new store and along with it, the brand’s new retail concept.

Of course, Slimane runs Saint Laurent with precision and control, so only four photos of the store were released, each one black and white and none showing any of the rock-tinged merchandise that will be available. The huge store, which spans over 10,000 square feet and three stories, can lay claim to being the largest Saint Laurent women’s store in the world. The temporary store, which is located at 469 North Rodeo, has been converted and will now only carry the mens collection.

The flagship features vintage furniture throughout, including pieces by Louis Sognot, Jean Roy¨re, Paul Dupr©-Lafon, Ren© Prou, Jacques Adnet and Edgar Brandt.

In addition, there are African art pieces by the Ashanti, Nupe, and M€™Bole as well as Zimbabwe stools and a Senoufo sculpture. The store is decked out in white marble, shiny brass fixtures and gleaming vitrines, which will hold small leather goods and accessories. The main feature is a huge staircase, which is visible from street level and leads up to a more intimate second story, which houses ready-to-wear and shoes and gives panoramic views of Rodeo Drive below through floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows.

The store also has is a five-level high display that will showcase handbags, shoes and accessories, though shoppers will be able to shop them on the first floor alongside jewelry and a small selection of ready-to-wear. The third floor of the store will be a private salon, so expect to spot Slimane’s loyal celeb clientele up top.
